Jan Shepard joined CENTURY
21 Mike Bowman, Inc. in April 1999. Prior to working with the
company, she had a rewarding 22-year career as an employee with
the federal government as a support services supervisor. Her responsibilities
included managing the procurement, supplies, mail and telecommunications
for more than 2,000 employees in 6 offices for the Department
of Agriculture. Out of more than 5,000 applicants, Jan was selected
as one of 100 training officers nationwide to train inspectors
in the new inspection procedures for the Department of Agriculture.
President Mike Bowman originally hired Jan to
work in the property management department but because of her
strong organization and customer service skills, she was quickly
promoted to office manager and his assistant. Jan manages the
departmental staff operations for the company. She is a valuable
asset to the staff and agents at CENTURY 21 Mike Bowman, Inc.
Jan coordinates staff operations for front desk
receptionists and the customer service department, which includes
feedback and leads management. Additionally, she oversees staff
operations for the agent production, accounting, relocation, and
property management departments. Her responsibilities include
ensuring that front office receptionists respond to the customer
and agent calls in a professional and expedient manner in order
to deliver better than expected service.
Each buyer and seller call that comes from an
agent's sign or marketing efforts is quickly processed to that
agent for fast response and logged into the iBroker database for
customer follow-up. Another part of the front office operation
is the home showing appointment scheduler. Jan is responsible
for making sure that the staff schedules all appointments properly
and logs them into the database for future follow-up.
The customer service department is composed
of three sections that include client customer service,
showing feedback service, and agent customer service. Jan oversees the
staff in this area that delivers important information to agents,
clients and customers. Agents receive help in mail-outs, statistics
on market conditions, listing presentations and more. Sellers
receive information on the showings of their properties and how
the buyers perceive the properties. Buyers receive constant follow-up
on the buying process and information on up-to date matching properties
that they may be interested in.
In the agent production department, Jan makes
sure that the entire agent listing and sales income balances with
CENTURY 21 International and company accounting records.
Jan's accounting department responsibilities
are to make sure that all accounting income, expenses and payroll
data is input and processed correctly.
With more than 1,200 relocation transferees
annually, it is important that the staff communicates and follows
up with each transferee in making sure that their transfer is
handled completely in a professional and expedient manner. It
is important that each client and customer receive follow-up in
a timely manner.
With our large property management department,
Jan ensures that the staff communicates with owners and tenants
for maintenance repairs and accounting issues.
Since April 1999, Jan has assisted the
president and managers in the day-to-day operations with the company
staff. Her responsibilities are numerous and her dedication has
proven to be a great asset for the Century 21 Mike Bowman, Inc.
real estate company. Jan is just another reason our company is
one of the top real estate companies in the United States.
